When I sat down with the designer of our new website, Ryan Spilhaus, we dreamed of how we could best convey God’s work in Lincoln Heights. I wanted to make sure that the world wide web knew about the people of Lincoln Heights – their life, their hopes, their dreams, and their sorrows and see how God was reaching into their lives and transforming them. But, I must give Ryan all the credit for the creativity and vision for our site. His idea was to use lots of photos and stories of individuals to tell others about what God was doing in the lives of the community. That is why we have a blog page and a stories page.
Our hope is that these pages on our website will do just that – tell the world about lives in Lincoln Heights and how God is impacting those lives through DayBreak Ministries.
Our first story is about Elton. You can go to the blog or stories page now and read about him. Over the next several weeks, we hope to regularly post stories about the children we serve currently, those we have served in the past, the parents of those children and other residents in the community as we build relationships with them.
Please don’t just read these stories as if they are not real. These are real people. Allow the stories to move you to action. Pray, give, go. What is the Lord asking you to do? At the very least and as the Lord leads, I ask you to please pray for these individuals – that they would know the Lord and grow in Him each day.
