Thank you, Prestonwood Baptist Church!

This week, Prestonwood Baptist Church sent over 200 high schoolers, all of whom are part of their high school choir, to come along side of ministries across the city and co-labor with them for a week. At the end of each day, the whole group performed in various locations in DC and VA. The large group was broken into smaller groups called famlies, and we had the privilege of having “Family 3” spend their week at DayBreak.

Family 3 was led by Buddy, Laurie and Jordon who were amazing! They mobilized their family to both paint part of our building and assist with our summer program. Youth plugged into our summer camp by assisting the teachers and interns as needed. The kids loved having guests this week and the opportunity to have additional individuals with whom they were able to laugh, learn and play.

The halls and stairwell of our building received a fresh coat of white paint. This is the start to a project we plan to have finished by the time the kids return for the after school program. In the beginning of August, our goal is to have one or two artists come and add color to the walls through a mural and different scripture. We cannot wait for the finished product!

Prestonwood High School Choir, thank you for blessing us this week and for being so kind and selfless in the way that you served. We are thankful for you all!

That’s great that this group came to help! I know of a Christian graffiti artist whose work is really good and he could possibly “add color to the walls” and scriptures. If I can get in contact with him I’ll have him contact Daybreak.
