Peace is our main theme for our summer camp, and on Monday June 30, we opened our doors to 45 smiling children and welcomed them for another fun and exciting summer camp, during which we hope they will learn what is means to be a peacemaker.

Our super interns have taken great initiative in creating skits and leading the students in cheers as they introduce our peace theme.

We have been amazed by God’s provision in so many ways! We have an amazing staff – 3 teachers, 4 interns and a reading specialist, all led by Ms. Adria and Ms. Tiffany, kids are having fun while growing academically.

This week, the 3rd graders went on a field trip/scavenger hunt to the African American Museum of Art. They’re favorite was getting to see the different types of masks.

We love that the summer allows time for us to incorporate fun enrichments and activities allowing the kids to simply be kids and do fun things like tie-dying t-shirts and playing with play-doh.

We are encouraged by how well things went the first week and look forward to sharing highlights from week 2!
