We love our volunteers!

On Monday night, we as staff had the opportunity to celebrate the volunteers in our mentoring, after school and reading partner programs. They are the heartbeat of the daily programming that goes on throughout the year, and we could not do what we do without them!

Ebenezer’s Coffee House proved to be the perfect venue while B.Lin Catering served a delicious dinner.

One of the highlights of the evening was giving out awards. Staff had selected individuals who we thought to be deserving of awards such as “Volunteer of the Year”, “Servant Leader” and “Extra Mile”, among others. It was yet another way in which we chose to show how much we love and appreciate our volunteers.

Our friend Steve Park, the founder and executive director of Little Lights, spoke and encouraged us all to persevere in the work God has called us to do at DayBreak, remembering that we are the hands of feet of Christ. We are so thankful that Steve graciously took time to be a part of the dinner.

We feel so blessed and encouraged by the individuals God has sent to co-labor with us in sharing the gospel while nurturing children and strengthening families. We are looking forward to seeing our volunteer family grow, allowing us to reach more and more children and families in the Lincoln Heights community.
