DayBreak Events
Event Description:
Team up with up to two students to provide individualized academic support. Training is provided.
Notes:
There are four tutoring sessions for volunteers to choose from:
Monday, 6:30-7:30pm: Elementary Students 1st-5th grade
Tuesday, 6:30pm-7:30pm: Middle/High School students, 6th-12th grade
Thursday, 5:30pm-6:30pm: Elementary Students 1st-5th grade
Thursday, 6:30pm-7:30pm: Elementary (1st-5th grade) and Middle/High School students (6th-12th grade)
A semester commitment is required. Volunteers will be paired with the same students for the minimum of a semester.

That the Lord would grant us wisdom as we weed through resources available to train tutors and provide excellent supplementary education. That the Lord would provide enough tutors to serve every student that signs up.

Event Description:
Join DayBreak staff and students every Wednesday night from 5:30pm-7pm in an interactive Bible study equipping Lincoln Heights residents to live as fully devoted followers of Christ.

This event is being held outside of our apartment: 226 51st St NE Washington, DC 20019

Event Description:
Come and serve preschool to 6th grade students every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month through Bible study, games, music, drama, and crafts. Roles include teaching, group leader, food prep, and more.
Notes:
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
(be flexible as the Holy Spirit leads us)
12pm: New Volunteers meet at DayBreak for a brief orientation
12:30 pm: Everyone Arrives Outside the Sanctuary (with full stomaches...Eat before you come b/c we won't have the ability to feed everyone). We'll pray, go over the lesson plans and get everything set up at this time.
1:45 pm: Gather Kids/Sign-in/Name Tags
2:00 pm: Intro Time/Bible Lesson Time (Near the Sanctuary...in the fenced area or just past it if possible)
2:30 pm: Snack Time
2:40 pm: Trek over to Kelly Miller Middle School field w/the kids
2:50 pm: Games
3:20 pm: Closing Time
3:30 pm: Volunteer Debrief Time/Prayer
Contributors need to dress comfortably and modestly. Sleeveless tops, tight or low cut clothing is not appropriate at anytime. We also ask that you wear closed toe shoes (i.e. no flip flops) if you are going to be working with the children. This will protect you from unnecessary injury due to glass, etc. that is often found on the grounds surrounding DayBreak. Shorts are permitted, but must be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
