Saturday Outreaches
What are Saturday Outreaches?
Saturday Outreaches are monthly community events in which our goal is to share the Gospel message with our neighbors in Lincoln Heights. The purpose is to impact both children and adults with these outreach events. Since the majority of our on-going programs are for the children in the community, we would like these monthly outreaches to engage the adults in the community. First, and most importantly, they must be evangelistic in nature, and secondly, meet a physical need in the community (food, clothing, etc.).
When are the Saturday Outreaches for 2011?
- June 18: BBQ Outreach led by the Fuel and Focus Ministries of McLean Bible Church
- July 9: Children’s Vacation Bible School led by the young adult ministry of New Samaritan Baptist Church and 1st Baptist of Glen Arden
- August 20: DayBreak’s Annual Back to School Carnival in partnership with The Right Prep
- September: Event TBD
- October: Event TBD
- November 19: Turkey Outreach
- December: Christmas Event – Date TBD
Where Do Saturday Outreaches Take Place?
Most Saturday Outreaches take place at DayBreak (5017 Banks Place NE, Washington, DC 20019) or outside on the property of Lincoln Heights unless otherwise noted in the above schedule. Click here for directions to DayBreak.
What is the commitment?
There is no regular commitment to these events. These events are volunteer led and run. If you have a group that would like to help us plan and implement a Saturday Outreach, please contact us at DayBreakInfo@McLeanBible.org. We’re always looking for creative and relevant ways to reach our community!
