Summer Opportunities

Building projects. Simply gather a group of people (as small as 5 or as big as 10) and sign up to help beautify DayBreak’s building by painting, organizing or fixing things that need repair. If signing up to paint, we are kindly requesting groups to consider also helping us by purchasing the needed paint and painting supplies.

School Year Opportunities

Science/engineering workshops. Get a group together (friends, co-workers, etc) to plan and implement a one-time Saturday workshop focused on science and/or engineering. The goal is to expose children to worlds of STEM with engaging and fun activities.

After School Program Special Events team.

Work alongside of our Program Director to plan and implement our After School Program special events (Family Literacy Night, Black History month event, art and engineering Saturdays, science workshops, etc). Times are flexible and ideally, interested individuals will be free to help plan via conference calls or one Saturday a month, and able to help run the events some Friday evenings and Saturdays.
*Note: This would work well as a one time volunteer opportunity for a group (i.e., you and a few friends, co-workers, a small group) who would like to assist in helping to plan and volunteer for one of the events.

After School Program Special Events.

This is a great one-time volunteer opportunity for groups wanting to volunteer with DayBreak. These events occur either on Friday evenings or Saturday.

Where?
DayBreak – 5017 Banks Place NE, Washington, DC 20019.
